The Kingdom
of Bahrain, through the
Ministry of Social Development, provides the following services and facilities
in support of civil societies, co-operative societies and charity funds:
The State allocated a sum of BD.50,000 in annual grants to the civil
societies, from which 47 societies had benefited in 2005. The State also
provides a number of buildings to societies, in addition to land plots.
Government support to Charity Funds:
The Ministry of Social Development supports charity funds in Bahrain by
paying the auditors fees for auditing the final accounts of 81 charity funds at
a cost of BD500 for each charity fund, which amounts to BD40,500/- annually.

Financial Grants Programme Nature:
The financial grants programme which is given by the Ministry of Social
development to the NGO's works on the provision of annual financial grants that
are not previously specified, to Bahraini national societies that submit ideas
about unique developmental projects in the field or sector that these societies
operate in, which in turn achieve substantial results in services and
programmes.
