"Dar Al-Aman" Service

It is a temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence and their companions for a period of one week to three months, providing free shelter and necessary social care, and referring cases to the competent authorities according to the type of each case, whether during the shelter period or after its end. Also, coordination is made with the various official, civil and private bodies concerned with the problem of each case in order to provide the necessary protection, take measures to house cases, provide various types of living, social, health, psychological, recreational and legal services for cases, while building an information base to conduct studies on the phenomenon of violence and work to reduce it, following up on the implementation and special international treaties and agreements, which were adopted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

    1. Must be a citizen or resident in the Kingdom of Bahrain, married or single, subjected to abuse and domestic violence in any of its forms.
    2. That the social research and psychological and medical examination prove the case of domestic violence.
    3. That the case has a desire to benefit from the services of the home.
    4. It is required to accept the case to be free of infectious diseases and mental disorders.
    1. Transfer from the relevant official or civil authorities. (Ministry of Labor and Social Development - Ministry of Interior and Police Stations - Family and Judiciary Prosecution - relevant NGOs)

    2. Signing the case on the form for entering the home, which includes the case’s approval of the accommodation, the conditions of the accommodation, the house’s regulations and appointments, in the presence of the social researcher and an official representative of the case (the lawyer or the representative of legal affairs in the police departments).

    3. Completing the accommodation procedures by the Ministry of Interior (police stations) or the competent court in case the case is transferred from these authorities.

    4. Conducting social, psychological and legal research to assess the situation.

    5. Preparing a medical file and a social and legal file for the case.

  1. The case is transferred from any official or private body related to domestic violence.

  2. Conduct social, psychological and legal research to assess the case after 24 hours have passed.

  3. Preparing an integrated case file.

  4. Follow up on health issues.

  5. Daily follow up of the situation.

  6. Constant communication with the transferring authorities and the case family to prove eligibility for accommodation.
